This is a flocked print sweatshirt from JELADO.
It is finished with electroplating print based on the vintage color flocked sweatshirts that Gerard has collected for many years.
Following the previous work, this time too, it features an original design of a WOLF MAN that incorporates elements of horror movies. This design was inspired by movie posters of the time, and the flocked print expresses a unique atmosphere.
With normal screen printing, multiple sheets can be printed at the same time on one line, but this print is printed by experienced craftsmen one by one by hand. Since it is not a mass-produced machine, it takes several times longer than usual, and it also takes time to clean before and after work and set up the equipment, so there is no place where printing can be realized with this method.
The body is knitted with a round body (no side seams) using an old-fashioned Azuma knitting machine. The old-fashioned Azuma knitting machine is a fleece that is characterized by its vintage texture and lightness. This knitting machine is one of the machines from the 1970s when loop knitting machines were replaced by innovative knitting machines, and is a rare knitting machine with few remaining in existence.
Because it is knitted slowly, the number of production per day is small, so you can enjoy the texture of a loop knitting machine, which is characterized by its uneven surface and fluffy texture.
As for the nap, if it is an open-weave fabric, it can be napped in one work process, but in the case of round nap, the circle is aligned with a flat surface and nap is applied on all four sides, and the work is done all around, so it simply takes four times as much effort. It is finished with a pre-brushed nap that is brushed before dyeing.
The sewing is almost double-needle like vintage sewing, but the cuffs are circular knit ribbing, and the cuff ribbing is ribbed in one go from the two-needle sewing under the armpits.
We have reproduced a piece that is difficult to get a vintage piece that reproduces the sewing of the time exactly.
